Lithuanian Librarians' Association - The Librarian of the Year Award

About 6000 librarians are working in Lithuanian libraries. They are devoting their energy and enthusiasm for the patrons.

In order to find out the best from the best LithuanianLibrarians’ Association iniciated The Librarian of The Year Aword in 1992. This idea was supported both morally and financially by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania. Since the very beginning bibliophile Vidmantas Staniulis, the owner of the Bookstore of the Kaunas Palace of Culture sponsored the Aword. Growing popularity of the Aword brought new sponsors: Joint Stock Company Musu knyga and other.

The Librarians of the Year are aworded during the National Library week at the solemn ceremony and their names are inscribed in The Book of Honour of the Lithuanian Librarians’ Association.
