27th The 6th Meeting of the Lithuanian Librarians' Association was held in
Kaunas. The new President and the Board were elected.

2-3rd IV Nordic - Baltic Library Meeting Research and Innovation: Nordic-Baltic
Strategies for Library Development was be held in Liepaja, Latvia. Delegation of
20 Lithuanian librarians attended the meeting.

13-19th World Library and Information Congress: 71st IFLA General Conference Libraries - a Voyage of Discovery
was held in Oslo, Norway. 12 Lithuanian librarians attended the Congress: Vytautas
Gudaitis, Regina Varniene, Sandra Seseikaite, Ausra Vaskeviciene, Emilija Banionyte,
Audrone Glosiene, Janina Pupeliene, Janina Masalskiene, Loreta Burbaite, Simona Ziliene,
Laima Lapiniene, Virginija Raisiene.
October
17-22nd A group of Lithuanian village librarians from 32 municipalities under the
inviation of MP Ona Jukneviciene visited European Parliament in Brussels, got acquainted
with the main institutions of the EU.
25-27th President of the LLA Vida Garunkstyte participated at the
scientific-practical conference Role of Libraries and Information in the Developmet of
the Society organized by the Belorussian Libray Association together with the
Ministry of Culture of Belorussia, Fundamental Library of the Belorussian State University
and National Library of Belorussia. The conference was held in Minsk, Belorussia. The new
Board of the Belorussian Library Association was elected at the conference. Photo (33,5 MB)

5-8th A group of Lithuanian librarians under the inviation of MP Rolandas
Pavilionis visited Brussels, participated at the opening ceremony of the exhibition The
Old Maps of Lithuania, got acquainted with the main institutions of the EU, visited
the library.
14-18th Seven Lithuanian librarians from Silute, Utena, Zarasai and Vilnius
visited Slovac libraries: Bratislava
University Library and Piestany City Library.
